If you've been around for any length of time you've heard me talk about the value of repeatable tasks. I'm a big fan of automation in business.

Automation benefits your business in a lot of ways but the 3 biggest are...

Improved Productivity When we automate areas of workflow we are able to accomplish more, while not being bogged down in repetitive tasks. Our time is finite, and one of the biggest hacks to productivity is to find ways to maximize those minutes. Creating automation allows you t…

When was your last day off?

photo-1517960413843-0aee8e2b3285

I don't keep regular business hours for 1 specific reason... My work is here to support my life, not the other way around. That means some weeks I work weekends (as I write this it is 6:30 pm on Sunday), some days I work into the wee hours of the morning, and sometimes I rise before the sun. The goal isn't to work around the clock, my goal is to be available when life calls my name.

I imagine many of you are like me, you got into business for yourself because you wanted flexibility. You didn't …

Is Simplero Right For Me?

photo-1505330622279-bf7d7fc918f4
If you ask my family and friends you'll quickly find that I love organization. Everything in my world must have a use and a home. If those 2 things aren't true I purge!

The key to this level of organization is always asking myself "Does this serve me?"

I might really like a shirt, a pretty container, or a book; but if it isn't worn or used it's just clutter. ( Okay well not the books, I have over 1000 books in my home and they all serve a purpose I promise!!! )

I apply this question to ju…

Work Hours ≠ Availability

Office hours are not the same as availability.

Just because you are at your desk doesn't mean you are available.

Maybe that’s an unpopular opinion, but it’s an adopted Motto that has proven beneficial.

You do NOT need to take calls whenever you’re at your desk.

Or leave your inbox open all day so you can immediately reply.

Or even answer texts while you’re trying to get work done.

I know this is hard to swallow. Especially in a world where we as women are taught that our role is to help, be avail…

Something you may not know about me is that I am passionate about business being supportive to your overall wellness. As a lifelong work-a-holic, I know  how easy it is to slip into patterns of getting work done first and foremost. The 1-minute Rule

photo-1495364141860-b0d03eccd065

Have you heard of the 1-minute rule?

The 1-minute rule is attributed to Gretchen Rubin and says If a task can be completed in one minute or less, it should be done immediately.

This rule is a guiding principle in everything I do, and honestly, it should be the guiding principle for any business out there.

Far too often we as humans find ourselves feeling stuck and overwhelmed. As achievers and doers in the western world, we make long to-do lists. We exert a lot of energy on the things we wan…
